"Connet" is a specialized app designed exclusively for international students, aiming to facilitate their seamless integration into their new community. While platforms like Quora, Reddit, and LinkedIn cater to a broader audience, "Connet" offers a tailored experience for international scholars.
On "Connet", students can:
Discover Job Opportunities: Easily access listings that offer H1B sponsorships, simplifying the job search process in a foreign country.
Engage in Q&A Communities: Pose questions specific to their international journey and receive answers from those who've treaded similar paths or experts in the field.

The initial two pages users encounter are the signup and login interfaces. Recognizing the profound impact of color in evoking emotions and sentiments, I've chosen a palette that resonates with the theme and purpose of the app. Purple, my dominant hue, has been selected for its associations with wisdom and spirituality. To further align with the app's design ethos of spirituality and open-mindedness, I've infused the buttons with vibrant colors, ensuring they not only stand out but also harmoniously blend with the overarching design philosophy.
The primary feature of my app is a dedicated Q&A platform, tailored to the unique needs of international students. Given the myriad of questions they often have regarding visas, job applications, and various policies, it's crucial to offer them a professional and reliable platform to seek answers. Users can quickly search for their queries in the gray search bar or craft their own questions by tapping the purple circle.
My inspiration for this feature stems from platforms like Quora, Reddit, Zhihu, and Fishbowl, with the goal being to grant international students easy access to invaluable information. The bottom navigation bar provides clear indicators of the active page. I utilized rainbow as the accent color, drawing users' attention to the most critical icon, ensuring they always know their current location.
International students can greatly benefit from a mentor-mentee community to refine their job-hunting skills. In this community:
1:1 Relationships: A direct mentor-mentee relationship enhances communication efficiency and minimizes distractions.
Flexible Identity Selection: Users can identify either as a mentee or a mentor, fostering genuine and purposeful connections.
Dedicated Chat Feature: Once connected, a prominent chat box is established within the app for seamless communication between the mentor and mentee.
Appointments & Expertise: Users can schedule appointments with their mentors. Additionally, profiles highlight expertise, allowing mentees to understand and tap into the strengths of their mentors.
This structure ensures that international students receive focused guidance, aiding their transition and professional growth in a new environment.
For job seekers, several critical details play into the decision-making process when considering potential positions. A fundamental piece of information is the deadline for applications, or when the job posting will close. Recognizing its importance, I've ensured this detail is not only provided but is also prominently highlighted, enabling candidates to prioritize their applications and never miss an opportunity.
Understanding the value of comprehensive preparation for interviews, the app allows users to download the complete job description. With this feature, candidates can have an accessible reference, enabling them to delve deep into role specifics and formulate tailored responses, ensuring they are well-prepared for the ensuing discussions.
